Wicked

Here's my recommendation for summer reading--Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. It's a sort of prequel to L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The book focuses on Dorothy's verdigris nemesis, chronicling her origins and metamorphesis into the infamous witch. I highly recommend it.
